On 14 September, 3M has once again been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). For 16 years in a row, it has been among a very small list of companies which are recognized for their social, economic and environmental excellence and sustainability performance, both in the US and around the globe.

DJSI was launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmark and is now one of the most highly regarded rankings in terms of Sustainability performance in the world. It is created by researchers who perform an in-depth study of the largest 2,500 companies in the S&P Global BMI. The study accounts for general as well as industry-specific sustainability trends and evaluates corporations based on an array of criteria including climate change strategies, energy consumption, human resources development, knowledge management, stakeholder relations and corporate governance. Only the best-in-class companies are selected as the index components.
