3M Hong Kong recognized repeated as Caring Company for over 15 years

3M Hong Kong, nominated by Aberdeen Kai-Fong Association (“AKA”), was awarded the “15 Years Plus Caring Company Logo” by The Hong Kong Council of Social Services in recognition of its commitment to caring for the community, employees, and the environment. Also, 3M Transformation and Technology Manager Vincent Mak was named Caring Ambassador for his outstanding volunteerism and contributions to leading the 3MHK Love & Care Volunteer Team.

3M is committed to improving lives by bringing its full capabilities to advance meaningful impact in the workplaces and communities. Treasuring employees as its most important asset, 3M devotes resources to improving their well-being and encouraging them to achieve work-life balance. Under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, various infection-control measures and flexible work arrangements were in place to protect 3Mers and to facilitate their work during such a challenging time.

Last year, besides diverse voluntary activities, 3M launched the “3M Elderly Care Program 2021” and joined forces with AKA to enhance elderly walk safety. 3M and AKA volunteers, with the help of 3M authorized applicators, installed 3M™ Safety-Walk™ and Floor Protection Systems at the main entrances, sloping paths, and staircases (near toilet entrance) in Wah Kwa Day Care Centre for the Elderly and Southern District Elderly Community Centre, as well as at the reception area of the AKA Headquarters. The refurbishment helps reduce the risk of falls, a disabling condition of the elderly that adversely affects their health, independence, and quality of life.

As a purpose-driven company, 3M actively promotes environmental sustainability initiatives. Besides implementing practices to reduce waste, save energy and improve air quality, it establishes eco-friendly manufacturing processes and effective mechanisms to reduce carbon emissions. 3Mers also take part in environmental protection activities, such as Tree Care Day, organized by its green partner, The Green Earth.
